“Overall, it’s a good system. If I had to hone in on anything, though, it is its simplicity. That makes it so much easier to train everyone else.”
“They help us validate our new customers when they come onboard. They are fast, easy to work with and provide updates whenever there are any issues with the IRS. Would recommend!”

FAQ
Can You Look Up A Company’s EIN Number?
Unlike other government-issued numbers such as a Social Security Number, an EIN is not considered sensitive information. Your company’s EIN can be found listed on your W-2 form. You can easily look up publicly traded companies’ EIN online in the SEC’s EIN database, EDGAR.
Since private companies are not required to list their EINs on forms or the SEC database, you cannot easily access their information, so it may be harder to look up the EIN of a private company.
What Is An EIN?
An EIN is a unique nine-digit number given to business entities by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). An EIN goes by many other names such as Federal Tax Identification Numbers (FEINs), Federal Tax ID numbers, Business Tax ID, or Tax ID number.
Regardless of their nature, most businesses are required to secure an EIN. Even non-profit organizations that hire employees must have an EIN to do business transactions.
When Do I Need An EIN?
Regardless of the scale or nature of business, most business entities must have an EIN to conduct business transactions. You will need an EIN for the following purposes:
- Hiring employees
- Offering benefits such as retirement plans
- Filing excise tax returns
- Partnerships with existing an existing business
- Filing for bankruptcy
- Bank transactions
Tax-exempt organizations such as non-profits that hire employees, offer retirement benefits, and file taxes are also required to secure an EIN.
Some types of businesses, however, do not need an EIN. Sole proprietorships and single-member LLCs can use their Social Security Numbers (SSNs) in place of an EIN to conduct business transactions.
